Testing any new software or applications within the company is necessary before they deploy to all system in that company. But normally that task will be assign to the R&D department to test the new software and applications; it will take up few days or one week for them. This is because some of the company still using multi operating system as Windows 2000 until Windows Vista, then R&D department needs to test it on all operating system before they confirm that the new software or application is compatible with their company system. But for the small company that less the ten computers, they may not need to do that as is wasting their resources and time. Anyway for those who are still interest to test any new software or applications in their computer without affected to their system, they may install Sandboxie in their system.
Sandboxie is free software that installs in the computer and allow users to test any kind of software, applications, toolbar add-on or browser extension without any changes to the computer system as Sandboxie will create the transient storage area (Sandbox). All the software or application the installed by Sandboxie will be trapped in the Sandbox, and will not affect the computer system files.
Beside that users may browse internet safer with Sandboxie as it will trap any incoming unsolicited software in the Sandbox, at the end users just need to cleanup the Sandbox and start again with the new Sandbox. If users like the software they install within the Sandbox, they may install again outside of the Sandbox so the software may become a permanent part of the system.
Currently Sandboxie only supported with Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and Vista. Other then Sandboxie, users may try on Microsoft Virtual PC or VMWare to test any kind of new software or applications without effected to their computer system.
